Reuniting would assimilate the East Germans to the West, start the process of cleaning up, push the Ruskies back and put an end to an ugly chapter in Germany's history!. I should tell you that though great strides have been made, the East still lags behind the Western part!. It will take many more years to achieve a balance!.
