Haha!.!.!.too funny!.!.!.the north was where all the manufacturing plants were located and the south was an agricultural based economy which produced great amounts of "King Cotton" and all of the tobacco!. Tobacco can't grow worth a darn in England, the west at that time was filled with native americans, fur trappers, gold miners and a few homesteaders living in dugout homes (no trees to speak of on the great plains ya know)!. All the west sent east was metal ores, hides, cattle, and some wheat!.
