Question: What would the world be like if the Middle East had no oil!?

We would probably all be a lot more healthy since we would walk a lot more!. Less war for the Americans and probably less capitalism as a whole!. I would say less oil would be a good thing, however no oil could cause some serious issues with the way the world works today!. It all truly depends on when they ran out of oil or if there was never oil in the middle east!. However relatively soon we may be able to see what it will be like to not be able to rely so heavily on oil!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

The Middle East would have been unlikely to have developed the way it did during the 20th Century!. It would probably be more like Sudan, a poor region with the USA, UK, and UN paying it little attention and allowing governments to do what they wanted, like in Darfur!. There wouldn't be the money for coastal desalination plants and new luxury complexes by the sea, and all the other things that oil has paid for in countries like Saudi Arabia!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

i live in dubai and feel that if there was no oil in the middle east UAE would not be where it is today!.The world would be a much better place as humans would have found an alternative for fuel!.Anyways there is still over 98 billion barrels of oil under the sea coast of UAE so it won't get over too fast!.And once it does get over the UAE government won't need it anymore due to its rapid growth and progress of economical and commercial issues!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

~Chances are the CIA wouldn't have bothered to put Saddam Hussein in power in Iraq or the Shah on the Peacock throne or created SAVAT or armed and trained Osama bin Laden and the Taliban!. Most likely Getty Oil and Exxon Mobil wouldn't run US and UK foreign policy!. We'd probably have cheaper, more economical and more environmentally friendly modes of transportation and a cleaner form of lubrication, although plastics, textiles and medications might not be so well advanced!. Erwin Rommel would be an unknown!. Israel would not be such an important ally!. The Palm Tree Island complex wouldn't exist and Tiger Woods wouldn't play golf in Dubai!.

But isn't that much like asking "what would the world be like if corn and wheat didn't grow on the American Great Plains"!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

I would guess that Congress would have to open their eyes to "offshore drilling" the major controversy now!. This would include angle drilling and drilling in State and National parks!.
That would also take care of the very large petroleum supply we now have stored in Canada and the U!.S!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

well one noticeable difference would be that that clown in iraq wouldn't have such a big mouth as he does now!.
so maybe venezuela should run out of oil to and that other clownn would shut up to!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

world would be the same even after the elemination of oil in middle east !. though she start searching new ways for energy producing or exploring new Oil places, on or off-shore !.Www@QuestionHome@Com
