The Jay Treaty, also known as the Treaty of London of 1794,between the United States and Great Britain averted war, solved many issues left over from the American Revolution, and opened ten years of largely peaceful trade in the midst of the French Revolutionary Wars!.

The Treaty of Paris, signed on September 3, 1783, and approved by the Congress of the Confederation on January 14, 1784, formally ended the American Revolutionary War between the Kingdom of Great Britain and the thirteen United States of America!.

The Treaty of Ghent signed on December 24, 1814, in Ghent, was the peace treaty that ended the War of 1812 between the United States of America and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland!. The treaty largely restored relations between the two countries!.

On April 30, 1803, the Louisiana Purchase Treaty authorized President Jefferson to take possession of the territory and establish a temporary military government!. And made temporary provisions for local civil government to continue as it had under French and Spanish rule and authorized the President to use military forces to maintain order!. Plans were also set forth for a mission to explore and chart the territory, which would become known as the Lewis and Clark Expedition!.
