Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
First thing is that the Crusaders feared to go to Jerusalem is that bcz they might lose a lot of soldiers bcz of the weather and lack of food
but the main fear was the great Leader of the Muslims Salahu din al ayubi and bcz the Muslims had a strong faith and much better horses!.

And another fear was bcz of his brother who might take his emperor while he is fighting in Jerusalem!.

Nothing, they where there to fight the Saracens so why would they fear them, at the end of the day the Crusaders where there under the flag of christianity and with the blessing of the Pope so in their opinion it was "Gods will" to go and conquer the holy land!. That said the Saracens had a fearsome reputation so im sure the Crusaders where a little apprehensive about fighting them!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, the Saracens weren't exactly pushovers!. They were known for being fierce fighters!. They were also world-renowned horsemen and had a much better knowledge of fighting in the desert!. They led the Christian "infidels" to some devastating defeats in terrain that was totally unfamiliar to the Europeans!.
Not sure if this is quite what you were looking for, but I hope it helps!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
