The British lost Ticonderoga (retook it years later) and never recaptured Boston, so a and d are out!. Their soldiers in American did not exceed 60,000!. Mercenaries were hired, although not personally by the king, but b seems to be closest to historical accuracy!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Because the British kept attacking and winning battles!. We eventually won after 8 years(!) because of George Washington's perseverance!. The British actually got tired of shipping soldiers across the ocean and having to pay taxes for it!. We outlasted them!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
