Question: Help AP WORLD HISTORY!
OK im doing summer assignments for ap world history can you help me !? Why is Queen Elizabeth the first of england an influential figure in world history!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Wonderful Queen, naturally!.

First of all - she was a woman! Every other kingdom had a man sitting on the throne with a mere Queen consort at his side, who had no power and was treated very badly!. But Elizabeth was Queen Regnant, meaning there was no King of England to take the highest role - she was just that in the female form, by Grace of God!.

More importantly, she was illegitimate!. Three times over, to boot!. She was in her mother's womb before her mother had the highest, most official role and title, in all of England, to be in King Harry's bed, and with that first knowledge of Anne's growing belly, Rome declared Elizabeth illegitimate!. Bastard one time over to all Catholics!. And then King Henry VIII divorced his first wife, against Rome's will, and made Anne his queen - upon Elizabeth's birth it was again declared by the Pope that she was void, illegitimate!. Second time over, a bastard!. Last, but not least, in her being null, her father grew tired of Anne and desperately wanted a son - so he cut her head off! And made Elizabeth illegitimate, taking away her title 'Princess'!. There, three times, a bastard!. What a feat!.

She never married!. As it has already been written here - unheard of! Marriage for someone of her status was a must, especially a Queen Regnant who was unmarried and had no children, (duh, they'd be illegitimate otherwise) and needed an issue as heir to keep her linage, the House of Tudor, on the throne of England!.

She was Protestant!. In the very early days of that 'New Faith' she stuck to it while surrounded by Catholic countries demanding that she convert back to Rome's Holy Church - but she never did and the Church of England is still the monarch's to defend in the present day United Kingdom!.

She was not an absolute monarch!. She did not rule alone and give disregard to her people's views, warnings, beliefs and expressions to fit whatever the devil SHE wanted to do - no, she had a council, a good one to boot, she did not hound the people for their faith whether it be her church or the old one, and she did not demand outrageous taxes!. And because she was so great a queen the people loved her and the country grew wealthy and prosperous!.

Best of all - the defeat of the Spanish Armada!. Her 'sons', her countrymen, were willing to fight to the end for her because she was truly loyal to them and for all their loyalty to the cause they defeated the Spanish Armada, leaving Spain in ruin, and parading England's prowess [my favourite word] for all to see - and fear!.

The legacy she left is one to marvel, how then could such a Queen of our world's history be ignored!?

Cheers!Www@QuestionHome@Com

She was declared illegitimate, but still ended up becoming Queen!. She ruled by council, as opposed to making decisions all on her own!.
She never married, which was unheard of!.
The defeat of the Spanish armada in 1588 associated her name forever with what is popularly viewed as one of the greatest victories in British history!. Within 20 years of her death, she was being celebrated as the ruler of a golden age, an image that retains its hold on the English people!. Elizabeth's reign is known as the Elizabethan era, famous above all for the flourishing of English drama, led by playwrights such as William Shakespeare and Christopher Marlowe, and for the seafaring prowess of English adventurers such as Francis Drake, Sir Walter Raleigh and slave-trader John Hawkins!.
