Because she wants you to give her some of your food!. The best thing to do would be to feed her at the same time as you get your own food, then she will be busy eating her own food and more likely to leave you alone!.

Or you might keep a packet of dog biscuits or something handy so that you can give her a snack when she is asking for your food (assuming that you don't want to give her any of yours that is)!. Some dogs just prefer people food, and who can blame them!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

My dog does that all the time!. She is a bulldog, which makes it even worse because she looks soooo cute and sad!. I just think your dog wants you to give her the food you are eating!.
My dog once made a sad face, and after a while she jumped up a put her paws on the table a started licking my plate! I got mad at her and tried to get her off!. When I did that, it made her mad and she bit my finger!. My finger is still throbbing and bleeding--did I mention she did it during this night's dinner!? if you continue to ignore her she will stop it, Don't under any circumstances give her food from the table or even your plate, If you do decide to give her leftovers then puft them in her bowl after you have finished eating!.
