Question: Possible Value!? Ancient!?
Im greek and i've lived in Greece all my life!. About a week ago, a friend and i went diving (without oxygen tanks etc!. just masks) really deep in the sea!. As we continued swimming and looking at the sand below, i spotted an odd round indentation in the sand!. I swam down to inspect it, when i managed to pull out from underneath the sand, what looked like the bottom and middle part of a pot!.!.!.basically a pot missing the top part!. In it, there seems to be green mosaic, however most of this is covered by fossilised sea-weed!.

I was just wondering if anyone knows the likelihood of this being "ancient" or a potential value!.!.even though i know the latter is asking a lot!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Seaweed can cover things a lot faster than you'd think! Your best bet is to have it evaluated by a local museum, especially one that specializes in both ancient and medieval Greek antiquities!. Failing that, professors of anthropology and archaeology at a university may be able to help evaluate it!. You should store it in a dark box with styrofoam peanuts in the meantime, to prevent fading and further damage!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Impossible to say without seeing the pot!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
