Pope Benedict is the 265th successor of St!. Peter, so he is the 266th Pope!. Some have been removed, for instance, Pope-elect Stephen II died before he was consecrated a bishop, so they removed him cause he never actually held the Papal office, you have to be a bishop to be Pope!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
