If I'm not mistaken, the flag with rays was a military flag, a symbol of how Japan would spread all over the world, just like the rays of the sun!. After World War II, with the demilitarization of Japan, this flag was no longer appropriate!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I believe it was used by the Japanese Imperial Navy during World War II and is still being used by the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force today!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
