I can answer you more or less the first one, Spain was able to conquer the Aztecs (dont know about the incas)!. First of all you need to understand that the Aztecs had mostly all Mexico and some parts of Central America dominated (it was like the Roman Empire) they paid tax and the Aztecs were really cruel!. So most of them decided to fight with the Spanish against the Aztecs!. They made lots of things!. For example; they cut water suply!. As well the Aztecs didnt have gunpowder, and with other indigenous tribes there were a lot more in number!. The Aztecs became ill because of the unknown diseases brought by the Spanish!. It wasnt easy, and afterwards the Spanish felt bad because first the Aztecs received them with open arms giving them gold as they thought Cortes, the spanish conquerer was a god (in their mythology, they believed, the son of the gods was about to come!.!.!. like Jesus for Christians) Moctezuma, was the emperor, the Spanish burn his feet, because he wouldnt say were the biggest treasour was!. (Appareantly he didnt say so it may still be somewhere!.!.) so everytime a foreigner comes, eats mexican food and has a bad stomach we say they have "Moctezuma's revenge"!. Another important thing, is the so called "El árbol de la noche triste" its an old tree were after conquering the Aztecs, Hernan Cortes sat down and cried in regret!. That tree doesnt exist anymore, a crazy alcoholic bastard burn it by accident but that tree's sons are plant in different historical places in Mexico!. Hope I helped!. PS about labor, the indigenous became slaves and the lowest link of social class!. They worked in mines a lot, as Mexico had and has many gold and silver mines!. Some companies belonging to the catholic church helped educating and fighting for their rights, it was quite difficult for the european to see the americans as equals, in some descriptions it is written "they almost look like humans" (gee! thanks!)!. Nothing is different today!. Indigenous still after the mexican revolution are the weakest and lowest social group, hidden in the poorest parts of the country!.
