James was King from 1603 until 1625!. His son, Charles Stuart then became King!. In the years following the beheading of Charles I in 1649, Oliver Cromwell took ahold of the country in the role of 'Lord Protector'!. There was no monarchy in charge of England at this time!. His son followed him but was eventually thrown out by the Army!. Charles II, Charles I's son, was crowned in 1660!. This was the successful reinstallation of the monarchy!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think perhaps you mean "Who came after James I, King of England and Scotland!?" To my knowledge the crowns of England and France have never been unified!.

Anyway King James I of England and VI of Scotland was followed by his son Charles I of England and Scotland!.

King Charles I split public opinion towards the crown with a number of bad decision and, through trying to rule England and Scotland on his own without Parliament, he brought the two countries to civil war!.

James I was King of England, but not of France!. I think you mean King of Scotland!. He was James VI of Scotland, and became James I of england after the death of Queen Elizabeth in 1603!.
