Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Greeks were first to have an effective democracy, scientificly plato, aristotle and socrates were some of the greatest minds ever Romans were the first to have an effective republic, scientificly the aqueducts were amazing and there war machine was unstopable sorry i dont know much about artWww@QuestionHome@Com well , during the Renaissance era writers and scientist both used them to gather information about a time before the madness of the middle ages !.
