The first Parliament ruled from 1649-53!. Oliver Cromwell ruled as Protectorate from 1653 until he died in 1658!. Parliament ruled again until 1660!. Charles II, who had been exiled since the execution of his father, Charles I, was proclaimed king in 1660!. I know these events are all in the aftermath of the Civil War, not actually during the Civil War!.
