Question: Bastille Day!.!.!.!. What does it mean for you !?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
The anniversary of an event that symbolized the end of the old regime and marked the beginning of the first French revolution!. It brings to mind for me the cry "Liberté, égalité, Fraternité" and the ideals of the Enlightenment, though war, radicalism, violent suppression and the Terror were equally part of this momentous period!. As the American revolution's aftermath saw other colonies bid for their own independence, the French revolution was a model for and harbinger of subsequent revolutions in France and throughout Europe in the 19th and early 20th centuries!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Me personally, I'm truly glad our forefathers went to France and fought for our freedom!. Have you seen the recent HBO special of John Adams!. It's done very well!. I always hated that part of History in school because of all the dates, and not being able to visualize everything!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
