It was Gen Stand Watie!. He was the last to surrender in Jun 65!. He was also the only General who was not white!. He was Cherokee!. He was very successful!. He lead one of the most successful raids on the Union!. He escapped with over $5Million in supplies!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The final Confederate General to surrender was the Native American Stand Watie!. He signed a cease fire at Fort Twoson in the Choctaw Nations area of the Indian Territory on June 23rd 1865!.

Robert E!. Lee surrendered on April 9th 1865 at Appomattox!.

Joe Johnston surrendered on April 26th 1865 at Durham, North Carolina!.

Nathan Bedford Forrest surrender on May 9th 1865 at Gainsville

Edmund Kirby Smith surrendered on May 26th 1865!.

"The Grey Ghost" John S!. Mosby never formally surrendered but disbanded his rangers shortly after Lee's surrender!.

J!. S!. got it right, I missed Kirby Smith!. However, according to one source he surrendered his army on May 26, and he fled to Mexico then Cuba!. He returned to take a oath of amnesty at Lynchburg, Virginia on November 14, 1865!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It definitely wasn't R!.L!. Lee!. I want to say the last one to surrender who still had any number of troops was Hood!. I know that several didn't surrender at all and a couple just left the country and went to Brazil and Mexico (General Jo Shelby)!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
