The feudal system was crumbling by then in England but was still pretty vigorous in France!. Generally speaking, French peasants had more feudal duties than the English ones!.
Part of the reason for this was the extensive practice of sheep raising in England!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The black death had allowed many English serfs to free themselves and by the 1500s most English peasants were freemen!. Huge areas of France were worked by serfs until the French revolution in 1789!.

Additional difference - The English church became protestant during the 1500s - France remain Roman Catholic!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

France stuck with grains, and England diversified the agricultural crops so that in times of famine there was more food available!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
