Question: Pit full of arrowheads, Why!?

I recently found a pit with sand in the bottom!. As I went down into it I noticed that the floor was full of arrowheads!. What was it used for!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

How deep down was the pit and where is it located!? The location could have been a place that natives made their tools!. That would explain why there was so many in one location!. Do NOT disturb the area if you dont have to!. I would suggest that you take one of the arrow heads and take it to your local university's archaeological department!. Good luck!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It could possibly have been a killing pit!. Why hunt animals down when you can herd them into a pit and save you energy!.
Like shooting fish in a barrel!. Just a thought as the natives used these techniques and others like herding buffalo over a cliff!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It could have been a trap where they would chase an animal into, the animal would be impaled and killed in the pit (bear or something like that)!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
