Watch Band of Brothers!. It's not a movie, but it's still great!. It's a 10-part HBO miniseries by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks, and in my opinion it surpasses every war film ever made in all aspects!. Plus it's a 99!.9% true story!.

I think "Midway" and "Patton" were good movies!.
And they're old enough that you can probably pick them up real cheap!.
In fact, check the TV listings around Memorial Day, July 4th,
Veterans Day, (all the war holidays) etc!.
I've watched a lot of them on A&E!.
also "Memphis Belle" was from WW2

I recently saw "Wind Talkers!." The acting was fair but the weapons effects were really poorly done, and I was disappointed, in general!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Hey Bean!. There are some good recommendations here!. But for accuracy and realism, I have to go with Private Ryan, U-571, and the HBO series (12 part) "Band of Brothers"!. I bought the DVD collection at Walmart!. I like these for the aspects of war the other leave out!. i!.e!. How situations in battle change so fast - the chaos, etcetera!. Plus the explosions aren't just diesel fuel in barrels, as with the fakey "Wind Talkers" movie!. My favorite movie for many years as a kid was "The Great Escape", based on a true story which I researched a few years ago!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
