The name Palestine was a Roman invention!. When the Romans exiled the Jews from Israel 2,000 years ago, they changed the country's name from Israel to Palestine, and Jerusalem's name from Jerusalem to Ilia Capitoline, in order to erase the connection of the Jewish people to their homeland!. Palestine, by the way, refers to Philistines (or invaders), which were a non-Arab nation which invaded Israel in ancient times!. The Romans named it Palestine as a corruption of Philistia!. When the Turks ruled it, the land was part of Greater Syria and the Arabs that did live there were called Syrians not Palestinians!. The Allied divided Germany up so each of the Allied powers would be responsible for the control of that section of Germany under their zone!. The nation that almost succeeded in exterminating the Jewish people!? You think generations of Jews would want to grow up with the German language as their mother tongue!? Germany is the place of nightmares for many Jews, especially Holocaust Survivors!. Secondly: Palestinian Jews were already living in the region of Palestine!. They have been there for the past 3000 years!. All of Judaism's holy sites are IN Israel - every single one of them!. Actually it was the Jews who were called Palestinians!. To declare it was "stolen" is part of the propoganda war waged being waged as part of the larger war, & it's working!. 1!. The area was sparsely settled!. Many of the Arabs moved into the area to be near the good economics the Jews brought!. The Jews had created a country already before it was declared with all the structures - judicial system, newspapers, semi-government!.!.!. They bought the land with money in exchange for deeds parcel by parcel!. 2!. There was a greater Arab imperalist belief that they deserve the whole middle east to re-create the glory of a large Arab empire over the region!. There are other minorities there, but part of this belief is they don't have the right to self-rule!. 3!. Jews lived there continuously for over 3000 years!. There was essentially the same number of Jews kicked out of Arab lands 800,000 as there were Arabs who left during the war Arabs started at independence, 700,000!. So, from an imperialist point of view that Arabs own the whole of the middle east, you can see how they justify that claim it was stolen, from their imperalist wishes -- but from a nationist point of view of everyone gets self-rule -- Israel makes sense!. Proof of the imperalist view!.!.!.the Jews were offered at one point a tiny, tiny country around just Tel Aviv (built out of sand dunes by Jews)!. They hesitated but accepted!. It was the Arabs who objected to even this although they'd get everything else!. Germany makes no sense!. Even after the war, there were more progroms & more Jews killed as they came back!. This wasn't their homeland!.
