We'd have ran away like scalded dogs!. At D-Day alone we lost twice the men we have lost so far in Iraq!. That would have been it!. They'd have tried to impeach Roosevelt, and wanted to "talk" to Hitler and Goerring!.
The journalists of that era wouldn't even recognize today's breed!. Can you imagine Walter Winchell asking Patton what his "exit strategy" was!? This is a direct consequence of the 'Nam era; our men were dishonored by the press and criminalized by the libs!. you are right about one thing!. the politicians do let public opinions control what they do!. in vietnam, the war was controlled by the politicians, not by the military!. if westmoreland had been allowed to do what he wanted!. that "police action" would have been won!. the big problem here is that stupid people believe what they see or read in the news, and fail to realize that the media is giving thier own view, not what is really happening!. i vollunteered for service in vietnam because it was the right thing to do!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

eh!.!.!.!. Who says they weren't!? It's an American tradition to pick on the President and his policies!. You don't think there was an anti-war movement during the 40's!? Think again!.

The reality on the ground is exactly what the press shows us!. That's usually the problem!. When you are at work, and you are so sure that your idiot of a boss is hanging precariously by a thread because of his inability to provide you with proper tools and equipment, and everyday it seems like he doesn't know how to do your job, do you think he is still making money!? The answer is yes!. It is the same in the military!.

Sometimes, the goal isn't a clean victory; sometimes, the goal doesn't look anything like what Americans want!. That's the reality on the ground!. A deprived workforce, impossible odds, and seemingly incompetent leadership leading their men into what appears to be losing confrontations with a determined enemy!. Before Dec!. 7th we were as divided as now!. We were in the same mode of isolationists and defenders!. Unlike now when we were attacked it brought us together not riping us apart!. Then unlike now our culture had higher values, honor, duty, country!. The secular movement of the 20th century has brought us to this point where God is not a major consideration and religion's are shunned, religions are where our highest values are adopted in a culture!.

It is true that the left is where the biggest part of the secular movement and the majority of the press is but many so called religion's are themselves secularists, just look at Rev!. Wright
