Question: Roman flag!?
what does mediatlantica mean!? its on the anceint roman flag!. please help!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Atlantica refers to the Titan "Atlas" who possesses greater strength, stamina, endurance and resistance to injury than any other Titan or Olympian god!. A fitting reference for Roman soldiers to be reminded of every day!.

He personified the quality of endurance (atla?)!. In one tradition, Atlas led the Titans in a rebellion against Zeus and was condemned to bear the heavens upon his shoulders!. In another, he was said to have been appointed guardian of the pillars which held earth and sky asunder!. Atlas was the 'god' who turns the heavens on their axis, causing the stars to revolve!.

Medi is the Latin word meaning centre, middle!.

Put it together, and it looks like Centre of the Universe, and being strong, enduring, and resilient, appointed by the 'gods' to hold up the earth and keep "heaven and earth" in order!. That sounds like the ambitions and arrogance suited for the Roman empire!.

Sounds like something the Roman empire would like to have as their motto!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
