For those leaders and citizens who supported it, and those soldiers who fought in it, in their judgement it was worth pursuing and finishing!.

Doubts, of course, never far away!. The French Army mutinied in 1917 against the demands of its generals for massive frontal assaults!. The German Army in 1918 had many troops ready to surrender!. The British and Commonwealth armies were nearly exhausted as well!.

The Russians quit the fight under the leadership of the Bolsheviks, and the inducements of the Germans!.

The US too had its doubts afterwords!. A generation of isolation and America First sentiments kept the US from exercising any influence in the run up to the second war in Europe!.

Nonetheless, most major participants fought, bled, and paid the price for reasons sufficient to keep them engaged, regardless!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No it wasn't it!. It was a huge reason for WW2!. They made the Germans accept all the blame for the war and pay back a lot of the damages caused by it!. That made them way angry!. It really didn't resolve anything!. It was possible the most pointless war ever!. It caused Germany to be very angry, thats why Hitler got into power!. He played on the peoples anger!. It was a technological gain however!. We have lots of things now a days because of it!. Mainly military gear and things, but it was useful in that sense!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No world war (or any other war) is worth it, in terms of loss of life and destruction of property, but it seems mankind has not year learned that there are other ways of settling disputes!. This was to have been the role of the League of Nations and the United Nations, but neither one has worked very well!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Politically the war failed to solve the one issue it ought to have, namely that Germany was, despitie being temporarily bankrupt, still the the most powerful European state in demographic & industrial terms!. The colapse of Russia & ruining of France made the situation worse than before the war!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

There wasn't a choice in the matter for France, or Belgium, or Britain, really!. Many people have a strange confidence in the German society of the early 20th Century to get better after a a conquest!. If Germany won WWI, it could well have done incredibly evil things after its victory as it did after its real defeat (the Shoah!.!.!. WWII)!. Why do you think that the German disease wasn't deep!? Why believe that it "!.!.!.was the Treaty of Versailles" or whatever that made the Germans do what they did in the 1930s and into the 1940s!? Why this optimism about Germany!?
Yes, Germany had to be fought!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No, it was escalation from paranoia!. Lives, numerous were lost for that paranoia, money well waste and the very disturbing circumstances the people of the countries getting attacked had to live with was absurd!. In my opinion, most wars are useless anyways, save a few won back in 1500-1000!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

if you was on this side it was worth it if you was on the other side it wasn't worth it we kept our way of life by being able to vote and put our politicians down with out fear from our government and alot of lives were lost on both sides we saved alot on this sideWww@QuestionHome@Com

no!. It was an absolute catastrophe!. It cost thousands of good men there lives and for what, so that some idiot who was unsure of himself and wanted to make up for his shortness and the fact that he was not seen as powerful!. It was patheticWww@QuestionHome@Com

No it was a catastrophe!. Much better to have let Germany get a bit more power in Europe and world at the expense of Britain and France!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
