Yes, feather quills which were shaved on one side and split like a modern fountain pen, also wood and cane pens!. People also still carved wood and stone or anything that would leave a mark!. I think the feathers were more used by the scholars of the time as they had access to the latest technology!. Blood may have been used for ink at times!.When animals were killed ,the blood might have been saved for ink,or if a person couldnt get it,they may have used their own bloodWww@QuestionHome@Com
