Question: When D-Day occured at what tide was it at!?
I was looking at a picture of the Atlantic wall of Normandy and it has high and low tides on it, did d-day have a low or high tide!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

It was low tide!. You can see this because the barriers were supposed to be in the water!. They were meant to rip open the hauls of ships as they cruised over them but it was low so the soldiers were able to use them as cover!. I don't think they planned it to be low tide because the whole reason there was a slaughter at Omaha beach because the barriers blocked the way for the tanks to role in!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The invasion had to start at high tide because of the beach obstacles!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
