"Inevitablity" is the result of cultural conditioning!.

To understand the roots of the Holocaust, one has to go back to the Roman Empire, when Pompey the Great conquered Judea/Palestine and looted the Temple containing the Ark of the Covenant!.

This was the first glimmering of what would be called
Ant-Semitism in Europe, a tradition beginning when Jews, displaced first by the Romans and later the Crusades and the conquests of the Ottoman Turks, became a significant minority presence in Europe!.

But anti -semitism really began to flourish in the later Roman Empire, after Constantine (for political reasons) decreed Christinality to be the "official" religion of the Roman Empire!.

By then, the Jewish roots of Christianity was sublimated into the Greco-Roman concepts of the dual nature of God as both spriit and human, and the formation of the concept of the trinity (from pagan roots) and the emphasis not on the Jewish roots of the historical man Jesus, but the spiritual essence of the Christ!.

This tension between culture and religion futher seperated Jews form Christians, who were, by the time of the Cursades, far less tolerant of other religions than either Judiasm or Islam!.

Another source of anti-semitism was economic!. Jews were the bankers, money lenders and financiers of Europe well into the 20th century!. Without them, Kings, empires and nations could not finance their wars or pay and equip thier troops!.

From this there grew a resentment based on envy, paralleled with the dependance on he financial and business expertise of "the Jews" that held many Europeans nations in debt to them!.
Coupled with their "alien religion", and the Chtristain doctrine that it was the Jews that betrayed Christ and sent him to the cross; the stage was set for what would become the various "pogroms" in Russia and Europe, and finally, the Holocaust!.

Anti-semitism was also prevalent in the New World, if less violent in nature!.

Anti-semtism was so pervasive in the United States that Jewish actors, in order to get jobs and become popular and successful would change or anglicize their names to sound more "American" and less "jewish" or "foreign" to avoid outright prejudice and, sometimes, actual violence!.

Thus:

Albert Brooks (Albert Lawrence Einstein)
Betty Hutton (Elizabeth June Thornburg)
Buddy Clark (Samuel Goldberg)
Doris Day (Doris Mary Ann Von Kappelhoff)
Fred Astaire (Frederick Austerlitz)
Fredric March (Ernest Frederick McIntyre Bickel)
Gale Storm (Josephine Owaissa Cottle)
Gene Simmons (Chaim Witz)

etc!.

well it could have been prevented, but the government had it set in stone that it wanted it to happen to create the ayrian race!.
however, many 'deniers' think that it could have been shunned because there is no evidence or documentation with hitler or other officials signatures of approval!.
But there was a set of minutes that survived from the Wannsee Conference that proves their intentions and that they were to be carried out fast!.

another thing that proves it is the speech by Heinrich Himmler to the SS, it was a secret speech held in Posen!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It could have been stopped but nobody wanted to stand up against Hitler!. People all around were afraid of Hitler and thus kept quiet!. Even the superpowers did not sent in their armies to stop it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
