One of his not so loved quotes is that (and I paraphrase it) (he would never give a black person a position of authority over a white person if given the chance) and that he would be for preserving the Union even if it meant slavery was left intact!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Not letting the south secede, he didnt want two countries!. And he was never completely against slavery, though he would never declare it right, he only was against slavery moving to new territories of north america!. Though Lincoln never equated his beliefs on what his parents believed, he was an honest man and quoted scripture and lived a life that showed he did believe in God!.
