Britain formally acknowledged the independence of the USA with the signing of the Treaty of Paris in 1783!. The majority of land in the USA today never flew the British flag!. In fact the largest segment was once the possession of Spain, although only Florida and Puerto Rico were obtained directly from Spain!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
