Question: In season two of Rome, after mark antony kills himself, cleopatra is question luscious varenas!?
In season two of Rome, after mark antony kills himself, cleopatra is question luscious varenas about her son being heir, and he says something to the affect of, " you are lucky I do not open your stomach!." and she is like, " what of my son being rightful heir!?" and he mocks her saying, " I was there during the conception, he is not heir!. " or something like that, and at the end when the boy is questioning pullo, he says, " about your father!.!.!." and then it ends!. What the hell are they talking about!? and why wouldnt he be heir!? Caesar and her were lovers historically, so why would the boy NOT be his son!? I know that caesar did not know of the child, so he put octavian in his will, is that what they mean!? if so, why did lusciuos varenas say, " He is not blah blah, I was there during the conception!?"

In season one of the show Rome, they showed that Cleopatra knew that she was in her fertile period!. Fearing that Caesar might not be able to actually father a child, she ended up having sex with Pullo!. Varenus was there and he, Pullo, Cleopatra, and Cleopatra's woman servant were the only ones who knew!. A few days later Cleopatra met Caesar and made sure to seduce him so that it would look like Caesarian was Caesar's child!.
Pullo and Varenus were both fictional characters, and there is no reason to believe Cleopatra ever resorted to such a trick!. There is no reason to think that Caesar didnt know of Caesarian!. Cleopatra had no reason to hide that from him!. But Caesar probably recognised that Rome would never accept a half-egyptian child as his heir, certainly wouldn't allow such a child into any position of power!. But he chose a member of his family who was definitely worthy to follow him!. However coldly Octavian was potrayed in the show, the fact was that as a very young man he managed to manouver his way into absolute power against very powerful opposition!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
In the HBO show Rome Pullo and Varenas escorted Cleopatra to Rome!. It was Cleopatra plan to seduce Ceaser and make him her's baby daddy when she got there!. But she was ovulating during the trip and knew she wouldn't arrive in time!. So, at first she wanted Varenas to inpregnant her but he refused!. So her only option was then Pullo!.
