The declaration was published on July 4, 1776!. People did sign at different times!. John Adams thought the day the document was accepted would be the anniversary, and that was July 2!.

It stated, once and for all, that these United colonies are, and of right ought to be, free and independent states!. In other words, there is no turning back now, it's victory or the noose for every man who signed it!.

The fighting had gone on for more than a year before this, but our statement that we were a nation, fighting another nation, meant we were at war with Great Britain!.

The French, Spanish, and Dutch now had a nation to deal with, and Dr!. Franklin and the other emmisaries could say as much!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

1!. Not everyone signed the Deceleration on July 4th!. Most signed it much later at an established hall meeting!.
2!. The Deceleration of Independence was adopted on that day!. (Very important)
3!. Not all colonies convened at the second continental congress, a few joined in later!.
That's all I can think of now!. Most of those all tie in together with the continental congress, just know that and you should do well on what you need to know!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
