Question: How did the Containment Strategy dominate Western Europe!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Containment was a part of the Truman Doctrine (developed by Harry Truman, 33rd president of the US)!. It was basically to prevent the spread of Communism and the Soviet Sphere of Interest that was present throughout Eastern Europe at the time!. This would be done by forming strategic alliances with Nations still outside the Soviet sphere of interest (for example, south-east Asian countries)!.
The Berlin Blockage and the Korean War, for instance, were tests of this policy!. They indicated that the US were serious about it!.
Although some felt that 'containment' was not enough, and fovoured a more aggressive approach!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
