Wilson's "14 Points" were largely based around him advocating the self-determination and self-motivation of ethnic groups!. With this point in mind, you could see a correlation between a Wilsonian point of view and the Emancipation Proclamation!. He preached sovereignty for many ethnicities throughout borders, and this would have fit in perfectly with what Lincoln was trying to convey with the E!.P!.
