They had the Atlantic wall!. The beaches and mines, and machine gun nests!. This all created a wall behind bunkers over looking the beach!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I must do this from memory so you experts out their have mercy!.
Germany had 26 coastal defense division, at least in name,
comprised largely of French,Polish,and Danish conscripts!.
12 to 15 large naval guns in fortified position!. Various small
and medium cal!. guns!. Earthen works,concrete bunkers, and
a variety of beach obstacles!. 3 reg infantry divisions forward
deployed and a moblie reserve made up, ultimately, of I
beleive 4 panzer and 2 panzer gren!. div!. both regular and SS!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
