Iran was a monarchy ruled by the Pahlavi dynasty!. The Shah (king) of Iran was a tyrant & very oppressor to the Iranian people!. The Shiite Muslim clergy in Iran proved to be powerful enough to rally the people & eventually lead a revolution against the Shah, which succeeded in removing him from power in 1979!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Basically, I don't much about it but, the revolution changed Iran from a monarchy to a Islamic republic, which is basically a religious run government, or theocracy!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
