Question: What were the causes of the Second World War!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
What Really Caused World War 2!?
The True Cause of the Second World War
The date of September 1, 1939, when Germany invaded Poland, is remembered as the date the war started!. But little is remembered about the date Russia also moved into Poland, on September 16,1939!. The nation of Poland was now divided between these two war-time allies!.

It is interesting to notice what the responses of the major allied nations were to these two dates!. When Germany entered the western portion of Poland, Britain and France declared war on Germany!. But when Russia moved into eastern Poland, there was no war declaration by either nation!.

The Soviets caused one of the tragic events of history after they occupied their portion of Poland!. They captured approximately 10,000 Polish officers and brutally murdered them, most of them meeting their death in Katyn Forest near the Russian town of Smolensk!. The traditional story about their deaths was that the officers had been killed by the German army, but now the evidence is clear that the Russians committed this crime!. The other victims were taken aboard a barge which was towed out to sea and then sunk!.

Even with all of these efforts of the American businessman to construct the German war machine with the full knowledge and approval of President Roosevelt, he kept repeating that the nation would continue its "neutral" position: it would remain out of the war!. On September 1, 1939, when the war started, he was asked by a reporter whether America would stay out of the war and Roosevelt replied: "!.!.!. I believe we can, and every effort will be made by the Administration to do so!."

Roosevelt responded by appointing George Marshall, a CFR member, as Chief of Staff of the Army over General Douglas MacArthur, not a member of the CFR, and other senior officers!.

Others did not believe Roosevelt's claim that America would remain neutral!. On September 12, 1939, Hans Thomson, the German charge d'affaires in Washington, cabled the German government: "!.!.!. if defeat should threaten the Allies (Great Britain and France), Roosevelt is determined to go to war against Germany, even in the face of the resistance of his own country!."!.!.!.!.!.!.!.

Hi JH!.
In 1918, Germany lost World War One!. It had to give up land and was banned from having armed forces!.
In 1933 the German people voted for a leader named Adolf Hitler, who led a political party in Germany called the National Socialists or Nazis!. Hitler promised to make his country great again and quickly began to arm Germany again and to seize land from other countries!.
Shortly before 5am on Friday 1st September, 1939, German forces stormed the Polish frontier!. Tanks and motorised troops raced into the country over ground, supported by Stuka dive bombers overhead!. A total of 1!.25 million Germans soldiers swept into Poland!.
World War Two in Europe began on 3rd September 1939, when the Prime Minister of Britain, Neville Chamberlain, declared war on Germany!. The Second World War was started by Germany in an unprovoked attack on Poland!. Britain and France declared war on Germany after Hitler had refused to abort his invasion of Poland!.
I hope this helps!.
Good luck my friend,
Cathorio!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Arguably the cause of WW2 is rooted in the failure to really defeat Germany in WW1 and then imposing the Versailles treaty that was generally regarded as unfair (not only by Germans)!. Then due to Political manouverings from the victors in WW1 they allowed Hitler to effectively repudiate the treaty and believe that the "Great Powers" would not stop him doing anything he wanted!. The war came when he underestimated the reactions of the British and French who he thought were too cowardly to try and stop him!.
Of course, this is a massive simplification - read the book!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

hitler was breaking the rules of the treaty of versailles which was created after the war to prevent war from breaking out, hitler was really annoyed that we lost the war and started to indoctrinate Germany "we are the master race, we need to prove this by winning the war" etc!.
He started to send soldiers to france and taking over the east french borders!.
Britain were forced to reactWww@QuestionHome@Com

The rise of Communism in the East!. It was only a matter of time before Stalin rebuilt the Russian millitary and expanded the Russian Empire into Europe!. Hitler decided to pre-empt this and invaded first!.

The break-up of Germany after WWI left German people under the rule of other nations!. This was a misguided policy!.

The French punishment of Germany after WW1

The French invasion of Bavaria!.

The defensive attitude of the French military!. The French should have mechanised their substantial army, rather than building excessive fortifications!.

The failure of the Germans to establish a successful democratic government!.

The policy of appeasement towards Hitlers's Government!.

Japanese and American imperialism brought them into inevitable conflict in the Pacific!. American has to accept some reponsibility for Japanese Imperialism!. After all Japan had been an isolationist country, until in 1853 the American Fleet forced it to open its borders at gunpoint!. The only way for Japan to recover from the humiliation was to become a superpower!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

appeasement was the main cause letting hitler take austria the rhineland -checkolslovakia - sudentenland thinking they would stop after that - drawing a line when poland was invaded in 1939 by then it was too late - germany was near the height of their power by then with a large airforce and panzerarmee ( tank force) u boats - battleships- excellent artillery 88 mm guns and a wealth of technological - logistical advances and a hoard of excellent commanders - kesserling ,rommel, major infrastructure in the german nation - building the autobahn - ny factories ship yards ( the united states - england and france )could have easily brought germany to heel - the germans had a small airforce in the 30's armour and battleships all small there was no bismark or tirpitz or graf spree battleships - no large submarine force- the german armed forces were being built up in that time but were not a threat until the late 30's a huge army - men trained for war as early as adolescent yearsWww@QuestionHome@Com

In Europe it was mostly the aftermath of the Versailles Treaty that ended WW1!.
In Asia, Japanese militarism and expansionism!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
