There's a really cool one, actually!. Photography!. I can't remember the inventor, but he tried to develop his photos in his cupboard, but they simply wouldn't develop!. Until one day!.!.!. the photos turned out! The inventor couldn't think why, until he dug around in his cupboard and discovered a broken thermometer, which was leaking mercury!. The mercury vapors were developing the photo-sensitive plates!. It's really cool how that happened!.

Penecillin is another, pretty much just bacteria killing the other bacteria around it!. Um!.!.!.!.Oh! Another one!.

Do you know Vaseline or petrolium jelly!? It was discovered by a man named Robert Chesebrough when he went to Pennsylvania in an attempt to strike oil!. He was intrigued by the gooey substance that stuck to the rigs, however, and even more so by the fact that the miners rubbed it on cuts and bruises to make them heal faster!. So, he did what anyone would do, he put it in a jar and went to work at it!. He tested the healing properties by INFLICTING WOUNDS UPON HIMSELF (all in the name of science, of course), and the wounds healed quicker with no sign of infection when he used the goop!. But aside from healing wounds, people used it for other stuff like restoring leather, polishing wood furniture, and preventing rust!. Yet the most amazing thing is that Mr!. Chesebrough believed that you should eat (caps lock again) ONE SPOONFUL A DAY FOR GOOD HEALTH!!! I mean seriously!. It actually shortened his life span, so don't try it!. Please!.

So, that's all I could come up with, hope this helped, and have a nice day!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The Frisbee - The Frisbie Pie Company of Connecticut made pies that were sold to many New England colleges!. After they ate the pies, the college students would toss around the empty pie tins for fun!. The idea caught on and soon plastic flying saucers were being produced by companies including Richard Knerr, co-founder of Wham-O, who coined the phrase "Frisbee" in honor of the Frisbie Pie Company where the idea originated!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Usable plastic!. A scientist dropped a piece of rubber and another chemical together on a stove and found out the plastic he made was more durable than the one most people were already using!.
Penicillin was invented when an English scientist let mold grow on a dish filled with disease he found that the mold was destroying the virus!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The glue used on Post-it Notes!.

It wasn't an accidental invention but when it was developed in 1968, there was no use for it!.

A use wasn't found for the glue until the 1980's!.

Dr!. Spencer Silver, a 3M scientist, discovered the formula for the sticky stuff back in 1968!. But it was Silver's colleague, Art Fry, who finally came up with a practical use for it!.
The idea for repositionable notes struck Fry while singing in the church choir!. His bookmark kept falling out of his hymnal, causing him to lose his page!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
