Robespierre was a lawyer and a politician!. He ultimately gained a lot of power by become the leader of the Committee of Public Safety!. He was strong supporter of Rousseau's ideologies which he used to help support the implementation of the Terror, of which he was a great supporter!. Charlotte Corday was a girl from the proviences in France!. She murdered the journalist Marat, who was a vicious writer and encouraged violence, she killed him while he was bathing under the pretence that she had a list of traitors for him!. She stabbed him with a nice!. She was guillotined a few days later!. It did not restore peace however, Marat, though really quite insane, because a matyr for the revolution afterward!. The Bastille was a prison fortress!. The fall of the Bastille occured on the 14th July 1789!. It was thought that the Bastille was a source of gunpowder!. The people of Paris raided the Invalides Hospital earlier that day and stole guns and cannons and then the Bastille for gunpowder!. It was a sign of the repression of the Ancien Regime!. It was the first time that the people impailed a head on a stake!. Dr Guillotine did not invent the Guillotine, he was just a strong supporter of it, as a humane way of execution, so it was named after him!. Marie Antionette was the wife of Louis XVI, and the queen at the time of the revolution!. She was originally Austrian and married Louis when she was a teenager!. It was meant to be a match to unite France and Austria, but it was unsuccessful!. (As France later went to war against Austria)!. The eight years of their marriage Marie failed to get pregnant because Louis XVI had erectial difficulties!. To compensate this Louis XVI spoilt his wife!. French people were just beginnning to know of the luxuious lifestyle at Versaille and of the royals!. They were starving and disapproved of this, especially because France was economically struggling!. Marie became known as "Madam Defecit"!. And she never said "Let them eat cake" she probably never even knew what was happening to the people who lived outside Versaille!. Im doing year twelve French Revolution at the moment!.
