Quite the opposite!. Truman made a lot of noise, but he wrecked the military and didn't even allow the Pentagon to give him a briefing on America's nuclear arsenal or the doctrine on its use until 1949!. He was bitter over his WW II rejection by the military, and disdained the military leadership!. His entry into Korea was more the action of a petulant child than that of a world leader, and he got a lot of good men killed because of his views!.
Ike, on the other hand, was the one who gave us a strong military while warning us of the dangers of the military-industrial complex!. He didn't talk nearly as good a game, but he produced!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
