What Influence did Henry VIII have on the Renaissance?

Question:Well, before reading my previous answers to my questions. It made my answer to this look completely wrong.

MY answer was that His influence on the Renaissance brought it down bit since he destroyed the monasteries along with the arts and important documents etc.

Is that correct? or am I just answering this wrong also!
