Position:Home>History> Please help with 1500-1800 currency...?

Question:Hah I'm working on my history project, and I've honestly been searching through the internet for... let's say 3 hours. I am desperately in need of a sort of currency table for ANY period between 1500-1800 including: China, Spain, France, England, etc including names, values, and interworth (naturally) Anyway, if anyone can help; I'd be very thankfull.

You're right. I just googled a couple of sites and hit a wall. I remember though that the "Blue Book of US coins" contains background information on each type of coin. Respective values, etc. My thinking is, go to the library since sites just want to sell the books, to the collectibles section and research coinage during that period. Most money was in hard currency anyway and you can probably find what you need in this manner.
Good luck.

I am not too sure you would find much since a lot of money was done as in pieces of 8 (like Pirates of the Caribbean if you have seen it). Currency was called bullion and it consisted of gold and silver pieces.

i know that sometimes they Barted...when they exchanged one item that the buyer wanted (say.....fish) for one item that the seller wanted from the buyer (like.....food, shells, water ect)

that is one form....sorry that i cant help anymore!
