Question:These East Europeans have no sense of responsibility.
They said the head and hands found on the beach belonged to a Lithuanian woman, and she didn't even turn up to collect them!
I know one of the parts was second hand, but even so...

I don't regard it as an invasion.

Call that an invasion? Wait till we really get invaded and then start complaining.

They fought valiantly but their lack of adequate military
equipment was their ultimate downfall

I don't mind the Polish. They seem to be hard working and many of them seem to be families. They do not cause trouble unlike some others we've had in this country.

Your question is a bit vague. Are you referring to the German invasion of Poland in September of 1939, or of an invasion of Poland by another country or countries, or of an invasion by Poland of another country?

If it's referring to the invasion of Poland in 1939, my opinion of it is quite negative. It was no more than an act of aggression by Hitler's regime.

steal unskilled work? what planet do you live on Les? if english people wasnt so dam lazy there wouldnt be ANY jobs for the polish, its a good invasion in my mind

I remember in th late 40s when there were a lot of people came to this country from Poland and Ukraine. They worked in the cotton mills of Lancashire, they and their children spoke English and the were hard working, clean living, lovely people.
Their families grew up and I am sure we all know someone who is descended from these people, in fact there are many of the original ones still around and they are a credit to this country and themselves.
I can't understand what has happened in recent years to make the people who are now coming from Poland to be so disliked. Is it plainly and simply, a combination of them wanting to get all they can from our country, and us not wanting them here?
I personally think that it is a sign of the times we live in, sadly. I do not see any reason why they can not come and live here now as they did in the 40s. Unless it is the criminal element which we need to keep out wherever they come from.

The few Polish people I know are intelligent, funny and very friendly. I wouldn't call it an invasion more like a visitation!

Polish invasion of where? This is the World Wide Web you know!

If you are referring to Ireland then in my opinion they are welcome although they have arrived at the end of the Celtic Tiger. Jobs are starting to get scarce now and I know some are returning home. They way I see it the Polish people are like the Irish when they went to the UK. In the UK we basically did the jobs the English people wouldn't/couldn't do. Unfortunately in Ireland the Celtic tiger has given a lot of us delusions of grander and now we are getting picky as to what jobs we apply for. I know a lot of teenagers and they just wouldn't work in a fast food outlet! It's beneth them! As Bruce Hornsby's song goes 'That's just the way it is'.

Will they please go back to Poland.

Poles invading somebody else?

Somebody invading Poland?

The Polish Partitions?

Poles emigrating somewhere en masse?

Please specify

What invasion? No idea what you're talking about.

well its better then the chav invasion.

never the less walking down the street and hearing a bunch of people blabbing on in a strange language can be annoying, and immigrants that dont even speak english are quite a pain.

They are allowed to claim for children back home and usually send the money back home .
This country needs it`s head looked at. Nu-labour and the PC brigade are going to kill off our easy going attitude.

My attitude towards the Poles is based upon their historic and heroic help during World War Two. Without the Polish Squadrons of the Royal Air Force, it is doubtful that the outcome of the Battle of Britain would have been as it was; a great and glorious victory for freedom.

I grew up seeing the Poles as 'allies' who had been occupied by the barbarian anti-Christ forces of then Communist Russia.

Everyone for many years had worked diligently and hard for Poland to be free.

Now that Poland is free, she can once again join us and be with us in our adventures and endeavours.

I have a very high opinion of the Polish people.
