She is worth studying because she was the last Queen of France before the French Revolution, and because she was unfairly blamed for much of France's ills. It is true that she was frivolous and extravagent, but the personal spending of the royal family only made up a tiny fragment of state expenditure, and she didn't really make much difference to the economic conditions in France. She was bored at Versailles and tried to escape from the dullness of court life by creating her own little fantasy world at the Petit Trianon, where she would pretend to be a shepherdess. I personally sympathise with her for wanting to get away from the stifling dullness of life at court.

During the Revolution, she behaved with great courage, even after her husband was executed and her hair turned white with stress. She stood up to the ordeal of her trial, where monstrous allegations were thrown at her, with great bravery, and she died calmly. She even apologised to the executioner, Samson, for treading on his foot as she mounted the steps to the guillotine.

Her most famous words: "Let them have cake." She was a stupid person that didn't know how to handle situations.
