im studying Egypt in year 12 HSC and as far as i know there was no solid nation in Egypt, just lots of bands of tribes and stuff. tonnes of pharaohs led military campaigns into Nubia because of rebellion and because Nubia had such great resources (particularly gold) which Egypt could take in tribute and trade for asian gems n stuff.
