My father did an extensive family genealogy and he found out we are related to King Richard the Lion Heart, The Scottish Royal family MacQueens, and also had descendants on the 3rd voyage of the Mayflower and fought in the American Revolution on the USA side, as well as in 1812 and the Civil war on the Union side.

We also have Cherokee in us but have not been able to trace past my great great grandfather.

I'm related (distantly) to a World War I fighter ace, Captain H. Roy Brown. He was, for many years, given credit for shooting down Manfred von Richthofen, the "Red Baron". More recent research has shown that it was more likely AAA hat brought down the baron, but a lot of books still give him credit.
Nowhere near as cool as yours, though.

Yes, and there in the history books.
J.Q.Adams.

Yes, I'm a child of God, and he lives!

Sorry, I couldn't resist (but it's still true!) I myself am not really related to any such person, though my dad did some important research about clean energy, and he has been on tv and in papers and such. Don't know whether that counts.

My girlfriend's grandpa was a really famous surfer though, guess that'll count when I marry her. This is him:

Good for you though that you are aware of your genealogy

William Harris Crawford, he ran for President in 1824 and due to health problems dropped from the runnings. John Quincy Adams won that year but was the first in history to be given the Presidency by the House of Representatives. Andrew Jackson took the popular vote and electoral vote but with no clear majority the House chose Adams and he offered to keep Crawford on as the Secretary of War, but Crawford declined due to his health.

I'm related to the Younger brothers who rode with Jesse James.

I'm related to my father (oh, you silly poo! I can hear you say). My father has his work in the national Portrait Gallery. It's in the IT mezzanine, and if you click on 'Arthur C Clarke' you'll find my dad's name. WELL DONE DAD!

My Cousin is Jason Maccoy.

I bet a lot of people are related to Genghis Khan, Attila the Hun, and other famous invaders.
If you do the math, you will see how many ancestors you really have going back only a few hundred years. It's hard to imagine that there would not be someone famous, even if by an illegitimate birth.
