Question:Some guy with the avatar name of "Coon Hater" asked a question "So who really believes the holocaust happened?" I gave specific evidence that it happened in my answer, talked about the different types of holocaust deniers (Political/religious/ect) and then made a guess by the guy's name and information in his profile along with answers to other questions that he was just a racist. I got an e-mail the following day stating that it was deleted for "solicitation." Sent multiple e-mails trying to appeal it with no response. I realize there is a forum for this type of stuff, but I guess I'm just curious if you guys have ever had to deal with this here on the history page. Why do you think this happened?

i have had several removed and deemed inappropriate in nature. i have no idea what that means. i tell you upfront that i am opinionated and if you don't like it, get a spine or a set of balls. i've had a few deleted by the pro-obama crowd because i said that he is a racist to start with. i guess i'm not entitled to my own opinion. i've had a few more deleted because i told the asker to improve his spelling so one could better understand the question he asked. you can forget about any kind of appeal. once the answer has been removed and you are docked the ten points, you'll never get it back. forget it. on one of my appeals i was told that my answer could be offensive to other groups so they turned my appeal down. what ever happened to free speech? i mean this is an open forum is it not?

It happens all the time. I've learned to not bother appealing - the machine just spits useless guidelines back at you. You NEVER get a chance to "speak" to a real person. I usually get nicked for telling kids to do their own homework. My bad... Report It

  • i did have this happen to me also ,someone reported me also when suggesting a web site. i had to e mail them twice to have it removed andfor them to agree its wasn't- wait a day or 2 then appeal again

Sure, I get hit from time to time. It's as if no humans exist at Yahoo Answers' resolution department. For me, it's usually telling the kiddos to do their own homework. There is enough ignorance in this country without Y/A providing a gateway and me facilitating young, lazy cheaters.

i answered on the politics board a question, something like "are you racist if you don't for obama." i answered no, just because we won't vote for him doesn't necessarily mean we are racist, and it got removed. but from what i hear anti-obama posts routinely get removed... i've had no problems on the history page, though.

I too have had an answer censored by Yahoo . I pointed out that the question itself was a violation of yahoo rules and got flagged for it . I too sent emails to Yahoo but never heard anything from them . I am more careful what questions I answer now and just let the dumb ones go unanswered . If we all did that maybe there would be fewer dumb questioners on Yahoo . Anybody can flag an answer or question and Yahoo removes any that are flagged . If you appeal being censored Yahoo will check out your answer or question but they don't seem to think it's important to tell you anything they decide . Sorry they flagged you .
