Position:Home>History> Snoopy's World War One Memorial?

Question:I remember, in the late 80's, watching either a movie or television show that included an animated World War One memorial.

Snoopy, as the World War One flying ace, was standing in a poppy field in France, surrounded by the white crosses of grave markers.

Does anybody know the name of this animation?

Are you sure it was Snoopy and not Charlie Brown, Linus, Peppermint Patty, and Marcy? There was a special, "What have We Learned, Charlie Brown", where those four were exchange students (and Snoopy was with them on their trip) over in France. At the end of it they visit Flanders Fields with Linus reciting the poem "In Flanders Fields."

In Flander's Field the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row by row

I rememebr watching the special in the early or mid '80s.

Snoopy vs. The Red Baron

could be the great pumpkin charlie brown. Snoopy dresses up as the WWI flying ace, he gets shot down by the Red Baron but he crosses the french country side going to violets house for halloween party. Other than that, not sure cause there are plenty of Peanut cartoons where Snoopy fights the Red Baron.
