My family is going to become a Jehovah witness family, but I need all the details on what we cant do! Answer if we are or are not aloud to do the item on the list, or what age were aloud to do it!.

This religious group is most known for its door-to-door preaching methods, but also:
1!. refusal to serve in the military
2!.refusal to take blood transfusions
3!. the religion demands UNQUESTIONING obedience from members, with the consequence of expulsion and shunning facing any who fail to comply with, express doubts about, or disagree with its doctrines!.
4!. Witnesses are instructed to devote as much time as possible to preaching activities and are REQUIRED to provide a MONTHLY report to their congregation on their witnessing activity (or tell how many "converts" they made)!.
5!. All sexual relations outside of marriage are grounds for expulsion ,or excommunication!.(defellowshipping)!.
6!. There are over 30 violations for which a member can be disfellowshipped :
Abortion--termination of pregnancy
Adultery--voluntary sexual intercourse between a married person and another person who is not his or her spouse
Apostasy--the formal religious disaffiliation or abandonment or renunciation of one's religion, especially if the motive is deemed unworthy!.
Bestiality (or Zoophilia)--sexual attraction to animals, specifically to sexual INTEREST in animals, NOT sexual behavior INVOLVING animals!.
Voluntary blood transfusions not allowed
Drug abuse--self-explanatory; if your body doesn't NEED it, you DON'T use it
Drunkenness --NO drinking allowed
Extortion--when a person unlawfully obtains either money, property or services from a person, entity, or institution, through coercion!. Making a threat of violence or a lawsuit which refers to a requirement of a payment of money or property to halt future violence or lawsuit is sufficient to commit the offense!.
Fornication-- voluntary sexual intercourse between persons not married to each other!.
Fraud--deception made for personal gain or to damage another individual
Gambling--wagering of money or something of material value on an event with an uncertain outcome with the primary intent of winning additional money and/or material goods!.
Heresy--an introduced change to some system of belief, especially a religion, that conflicts with the previously established canon of that belief!.
Homosexual activity--sexual behavior with or attraction to people of the same sex,
Idolatry--The worship of idols, or admiration of somebody or something!. Like,for instance, all these Jonas Bros,, etc!. questions would be considered idolatry because of a strong admiration for them!.
Incest--sexual relations between people who may not legally marry, especially between close relatives
Interfaith activity--that involving members of different religions
Loose conduct --that which is free from restraints
Manslaughter--taking another's life accidentally
Murder--taking another's life on purpose
Perverted sex relations--deviating from what is normally considered right, normal or correct ; marked by unconventional sexual preferences or behavior
Polygamy--having 2 or more socially bonded sexual partners at the same time; most commonly, the marriage of a man to more than one woman
Pornography--explicit depiction of sexual subject matter, especially with the sole intention of sexually exciting the viewer!.
Sexual abuse--Physical maltreatment; injury, such as sexual assault; violation; rape!.
Spiritism--belief that the dead communicate with the living
Theft--the wrongful taking and carrying away of the personal goods or property of another
Use of tobacco!.--NO smoking of any kind

To the Jehovah Witnesses, abortion is considered murder; modesty in dress and grooming (NO "hot" current-fashion clothes) is frequently emphasized!. Gambling, drunkenness, illegal drugs, and tobacco use are FORBIDDEN!. The husband is considered the final authority on family decisions, but is encouraged to solicit his wife's thoughts and feelings, as well as those of his children!. Marriages are required to be monogamous!. Divorce is permissable only for adultery or cases in which a Witness's partner forces on them "repugnant and perverted" sexual practices!.Abuse and willful nonsupport of one's family are considered grounds for separation!.
Jehovah's Witnesses contend that the Bible has always condemned the mixing of religions on the basis that there can only be one truth from God!.(So, you wouldn't say something like "At my previous church, they believed this!.!.!.") They believe only THEIR religion represents TRUE Christianity and that all other religions fail to meet all the requirements set by God and will be destroyed!. They are opposed to 'councils' that unite or combine different religions!.
HOLIDAYS: Weddings, anniversaries, and funerals are observed!.
