Question: Surname Oskay!? Origins!?
I have lived with my mom all my life, but I have my deceased fathers surname, OSKAY!. I am at the age where I am wondering where do my origins come from!.

Unfortunately most of these doors are closed off on me!. Since my father was killed in a car accident 2 months before my mother gave birth to me!.

She does not know his origins, nor does she know hardly anything about him!. Expect he was a college lover of hers and I wasn't planned on being conceived!.

She has not kept in touch with his family!. I do not have any information on their whereabouts, I have tried but failed!.

I am lost, I was told it might be Irish/old English, but a Google!.com search didn't do me any good justice at all!.

I was wondering perhaps someone with the background on Genealogy could help me trace the origins of my last name, perhaps shed some light on where it's from!.

Thank you all in advance!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

In the US 1930 census there are just 14 people named Oskay!. The ones not born here were born in Hungary!. The Mormons don't have any in their data base save some who died in the USA!.

has six, some with mother's maiden name and father's surname!. Those "secondary" surnames don't look English!.

There are a few Oskays in Ancestry's "New York Passenger List" data base!. They are Turkish!.

If you can find your father's obituary, it might mention his parents!. Post his name, death date and death place here!. You might get lucky!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
