JewishGen Yizkor Book Necrology Database
Name: Hannah Orenshtein
Town: Praga
Country: Poland
Book: 531
(Description:
The JewishGen Yizkor Book Necrology Database indexes the names of persons in the necrologies — the lists of Holocaust martyrs — published in the Yizkor Books appearing on the JewishGen Yizkor Book Translation Project!. This database is only an index of names; it directs researchers back to the Yizkor Book itself, where more complete information may be available!. Because most of these names were transliterated from Hebrew and Yiddish, the spellings of the surnames may not be as you are used to seeing them in Latin-alphabet sources!.

While you should not stop trying, it's doubtful that a death certificate exists beyond a soldier's checklist marking who was counted at the begining of a trip and who remained at the end!. That may be why you have a 10 day period in which she died!.

I can not find a microfilm of Hrubieszow records at FamilySearch!.org!. It appears the town would have been under Russian control prior to the re-establishment of Poland in 1918!.

I did find a Hrubieszow research group that may help!. The link is below!.

The book "The Holocaust" by Martin Gilbert also mentions an earlier deportation of older males on Dec 1, 1939!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You might consider going to the following website as it has an index you can search for Stutthof Concentration camp deaths!. There is also a link on this website that will take you the the Holocaust Memorial Museum website which also has a research section with data bases!.
